Brent Griffith, owner of GriffDecker Construction, started his career as a banker in Columbus, Ohio.  After 12 years as a manager and senior operations manager, his departments were sent to a different locale, leaving him with a decision.  Over the weekends, he had been renovating his own and others' houses, so he decided to take some time and renovate his parents' neighbors' villa on Kiawah (his parents live on Seabrook Island).  The renovation went very well and the villa was subsequently sold, setting a record for the highest selling price for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa on Kiawah in 2003.  Brent decided to move to Charleston and pursue renovations, which are much more fulfilling than bank operations. 

The sole other employee for GriffDecker Construction is Carey Garner, Brent's uncle.  Carey has been in commercial and residential construction for over 25 years and is very detail oriented in his work.  His hard work habits and knowledge of the construction business make him an integral part of GriffDecker Construction.

Due to the small size of the company and our obsession for quality, GriffDecker handles one job at a time and uses few subcontractors.  We will use licensed plumbers and electricians when necessary, but every other aspect of the renovation is completed by Brent and Carey.  This insures a very high level of quality for our customers with few surprises and small punch lists at the end of jobs.

Brent also builds custom furniture which enables him to make custom pieces for your home or villa, or any necessary trim pieces to complete your renovation.
